The Northwind database’s Products table contains both a UnitsInStock field and a UnitPrice field. The inventory value is the quantity in stock multiplied by the price of the product. You can set up a calculated column to show the inventory value by entering the following expression as the header of a new column in the design grid, as shown in Figure 1 (see Figure 2 for the resulting dynaset):
Inventory Value:[UnitsInStock]*[UnitPrice]

Keep in mind that you can always use a calculated column for filtering the dynaset. In other words, you can use the calculated column’s Criteria cell to enter a criteria expression. For example, if you want to see those products where the inventory value is greater than $3,000, you enter >3000 in the Criteria cell of the calculated column.
