It’s important to maintain design consistency throughout your presentation. This means using the same typeface and type size for all your titles, using consistent bullet styles throughout the presentation, using the same or similar background images on all slides, and placing the company logo in the same position on each slide. The more consistent you are, the less work your audience has interpreting the formatting for each slide, so the more it can concentrate on your content.
In a large presentation, you may find that your fonts aren’t as consistent as you’d like:
- If you applied a different theme to one or two slides, chances are those themes use fonts that are different than the ones in your main theme.
- If you imported slides from another presentation, those slides may use different fonts.
- If you’re collaborating with one or more people, those users may apply different typeÂfaces.
When this happens, the last thing you want to do is run through the entire presentation fixing font inconsistencies. You have, I’m sure, better things to do with your precious time.
Fortunately, PowerPoint comes with a tool called Replace Font that enables you to restore font consistency with just a few mouse clicks. Here are the steps to follow:
1. Choose Home, Replace, Replace Fonts to display the Replace Font dialog box, shown in Figure 1.

2.In the Replace list, click the font you want to replace.
3.In the With list, click the font you want to use as the replacement.
4.Click Replace.
5.If you have other fonts to replace, follow steps 2-4 for each font.
6. Click Close.
