You want to maximize your potential to receive funding. Therefore, you want to allow outsiders to picture where you are going and how you plan to get there. You want to commit your plan to paper so you can enhance your ability to manage the business and to develop foresight that will allow you to avoid costly problems before they arise. You want to confince your financial institutions that you where you are, where you are going, and how are you going to get there.
In short, you need to write your business plan. And since you feel too lazy to buy a business plan software, you want a practical template instead.
Tune up:
There are some business plan software in the market, but you can actually use your MS Word to do the job. Business plan indeed come in a variety of formats, but the content is consistently the same.
Below you can download a free business plan template made on Microsoft Word. Please notice that this is a template, so you would not get any example out of it. You will have to fill the blank by yourself guided by questions on each section. When you are finished, you will need to remove the blue guide text. And don’t forget to update the table of contents.

It’s still a lot of work, yes. But remember that entrepreneur who wrote their own business plan have a 45% better chance of succeeding. The planning process helps you to clearly think through what type of business you are starting, and allows you to consider every aspect of that business. This template will help you to plan your business, without needing any dedicated software but your Microsoft Word.
Please don’t forget to prepare the supporting documents such as resumes of the persons identified as ownership or management of the proposed company, licensing, letter of support, letter of intent etc.
